Tim, who qualified with a national firm as a chartered accountant in 1985, established the practice in 1994. He is passionate about helping business owners build great businesses that are more profitable, more valuable and enjoyable to run. In order to facilitate this, he is constantly developing the delivery of an increasingly wide range of pro-active business consultancy and tax mitigation strategies.
As well as being run off his feet by a large family, after hanging up his rugby boots in 2008, he is now working, with mixed results, to reduce his golfing handicap! |

Louise is our Finance Director and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Louise qualified as a Management Accountant in 1994 and has over 18 years experience in the manufacturing industry during which time she successfully undertook various roles including Finance Manager, Project Accountant and Finance Director. Louise now works on Haleys internal accounts and one off projects.
Extremely well organised, Louise is a very busy Mum and regularly provides the team with home baked goodies. The team particularly enjoy the home made mince pies Louise kindly provides at Christmas. |

David worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland for eleven years and during his last six years specialised in mortgages. Qualifying as an IFA in 2002, David provides mortgage advice and consumer credit advice, including arranging personal loans and offset arrangements for clients. |
Jayne Thomas
 Jayne has extensive knowledge of the construction industry, having spent several years in the industry as an accountant. Jayne joined Haleys in 2001 and leads our construction industry services department which is fully equipped with the latest construction industry bespoke computer software.
Jayne has a competitive streak and this regularly manifests itself on the bowling green.

Laura Sutcliffe
 Laura joined Haleys in 2007 and works in our corporate client services department.
Having graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a business degree Laura took a year out travelling around the world before joining the team at Haleys. Laura is currently working towards qualifying as a chartered accountant.
Outside of work Laura enjoys shopping, playing the piano and is an enthusiastic member of her gym.

Martin Cuerden
 Martin, who joined the team in September 2008, after spending two years at Runshaw College in Leyland, works in our corporate client services department and is in the process of qualifying as an AAT.
During the summer months Martin enjoys cricket however during the football season Martin can be found at Deepdale clutching his Preston North End Season ticket visualising their promotion to the Premiership.

Melanie Lawrence
 Melanie, a qualified AAT, joined Haleys when it was established in 1994. She is involved in the preparation of year end accounts and management accounts and she assists in the preparation of tax returns and payroll. Melanie is also our SAGE software expert.
Something of a culture vulture, Melanie enjoys the theatre and fine dining.

Stephanie Rankin
 Stephanie is a Chartered Accountant who joined Haleys in 2006 as our Tax Manager.
Stephanie’s speciality is unravelling complex technical points and in particular those relating to tax matters.
Married with a young daughter, Stephanie studied at the University of Central Lancashire and, after completing her training with a local firm, she joined the Manchester office of a top 5 international accountancy firm to specialise in tax. Since then, she has worked for national and regional accountancy practices in Manchester and Lancashire before joining our team.
Stephanie is actively involved in her local community and various singing groups and in her spare time she enjoys reading and wishes she could find the time to take up more interesting hobbies.

Julie Bird
 Julie is the newest member of the team.
A former Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, Julie joined the legal profession in 1996, and practiced in Lancashire, Merseyside and Oxfordshire before leaving that profession to join us in 2008.
Julie is Tim’s personal assistant and is also involved in marketing, practice development and company secretarial activities.
Julie enjoys the cinema and has recently married the very lucky Paul, whose great uncle is a famous film director. Julie is also obsessed with her little dog Hugo.

Hilary Holderness
 Having started her career at the Inland Revenue, and having previously worked at a Big 8 Firm, Hilary has a wealth of experience and knowledge in all matters personal tax and payroll related. She is also able to offer guidance on HR related matters and has worked at Haleys since the firm was founded.
Hilary’s worrying obsession with handbags, shoes and premium beauty products mean she is the person to turn to for advice on all things fabulous. A mother of three children aged between 12 and 25, Hilary is by necessity a domestic goddess who can always be relied upon when SAGE advice, stern words or motivational team talks are required. Hilary also enjoys trips to the theatre with friends, and is a lynchpin of her local church’s Flower Arranging Society.
